Pairpoint Table Lamp

This Pairpoint Table lamp was done in 1907. This beautiful floral design is a blown puffy reverse painted glass shade. All Pairpoint shades were frosted through an acid process prior to painting and the reverse painting effects required a great deal of talent on the part of the artist. Reverse painting combined the skills of watercolor painting and glass making with the perception of how light will play through the glass and paint when lit.
